Blooming Heart
The inspiration for MOODBOX’s “Blooming Heart” collection began with a hand-embroidered piece created more than fifty years ago by Zilehaimu·Shawuer, a 72-year-old Uyghur embroiderer. She began learning embroidery from her father at the age of two and is the third generation of embroidery artisans in her family. The flowers, butterflies, and birds she embroidered seem almost alive, imbued with an extraordinary sense of vitality.
She says:
“Everything in nature has a life of its own. We must care for it with tenderness and treat it with respect. This is what the land gives back to us.”
Moved by this profound reflection on life, Qin Xu, Creative Director of MOODBOX & BIZOUX BIZOUX, set her imagination free, exploring the spirit of the modern frontier.
Her inspiration comes from the women who preserve and pass down the intangible cultural heritage of Hami Uyghur embroidery, as well as the people, landscapes, flowers, and plants of the region. In this mysterious Gobi landscape, where every flower and blade of grass is precious, she discovered a quiet yet powerful celebration of life.
From the singular piece “The Flowers Have Bloomed” to the full “Blooming Heart” collection, the story unfolds stitch by stitch, as the embroiderers of Hami record the vitality of life found among the flowers and plants of their homeland.
Hami Uyghur embroidery is at once raw and elemental, deeply rooted in its origins yet rich in delicate detail. From haute couture to ready-to-wear, MOODBOX + BIZOUX & BIZOUX draws on the region’s rare flowers and plants, translating their forms into hand embroidery applied to carefully selected Italian and French fabrics.
MOODBOX further enriches these embroideries with Swarovski crystal embellishment, French beading techniques, and the integration of Copenhagen-sourced sustainable fur.
The collection becomes a vivid dialogue between tradition and fashion, heritage and international culture. It captures the multifaceted spirit of the contemporary urban woman: independent, confident, poised and accomplished, yet never losing the spirit of the girl within—sunny, spirited, free, playful, and instinctively drawn back to the authenticity of nature.
