Ode to porcelaine
The silhouettes and textures of this collection evoke exquisite pieces of porcelain. Inspired by fragments of ceramics, the collection is conceived around a poetic ode:
“You are a fragile piece of porcelain; I give you the courage to leap.
You are the last purity remaining in a fleeting world; I gather your fears.”
Fragmentation and patchwork become the collection’s primary design language. Guided by a “zero-waste” approach, fabrics are pieced together and leftover materials are hand-sewn into flowers and other accessories. It expresses a deep love for Chinese porcelain culture, while carrying a hope for the revival of China’s rich ceramic heritage.
The silhouettes and textures resemble fine porcelain, evoking the glorious era when Chinese ceramic art was admired both in China and around the world. At the same time, simplified cuts, fragmented lines and contrasting colours break the sense of wholeness associated with porcelain, expressing the melancholy and nostalgia of an era of decline and broken fragments. From this tension emerges a distinctive fashion aesthetic and a heartfelt tribute to Chinese ceramic culture.
Through simplified silhouettes, fragmented lines and bold colour contrasts, the collection creates a distinctive contemporary aesthetic—where the brilliance of porcelain is remembered through fragments, and its timeless beauty finds new expression in fashion.
As the poem says:
“Flowers of crimson, ink deep and bold,
Forged in a single fire;
White as jade, bright as a mirror.
Blue beneath the glaze sings of our ancestors;
Thin as paper, resonant as jade.”
